We are looking for a multi-disciplined web developer to join our development team in our
Indianapolis, IN office. The role of the web developer is to lead the front and back-end development and upkeep of our agency and client network of sites that we build and host. Advanced knowledge of PHP and WordPress is required, as is a complete understanding of UX/UI, information architecture, and user-path mapping. Experience in planning, scoping, and delivering web-related projects on-time and under budget is desired. The developer will be expected to have a deep understanding and hands on experience with web applications and programming languages such as PHP, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery.
The ideal candidate should be able to maximize and enhance original project scopes along with being able to create highly scalable web apps that thousands of users interact with daily. This individual should be passionate about the industry, aware of what’s new, what’s changing, and should continually look for ways to incorporate shifts in the industry into their next project. This individual should be able to work efficiently both individually and as part of a team.
Responsibilities - Create functional prototypes for clients to preview and provide feedback.
- Deliver high performant, standards-compliant web applications.
- Develop user-centric, functional, and visually appealing web applications.
- Provide updates to existing client websites.
- Troubleshoot and correct bugs that may exist in web applications.
- Maintain established brand requirements through web implementation.
- Remain up to date on emerging technologies and best practices.
- Execute OOP development techniques.
- Know the technical trade-offs of various approaches, including budget/time estimates.
The responsibilities are many, various, and not limited to those written in this document. Requirements - Extensive understanding of WordPress, including building custom themes and plugins.
- Extensive understanding of Shopify, including custom theme development.
- Extensive understanding of PHP.
- Understanding of Figma.
- Understanding of semantic HTML5.
- Understanding of CSS3 and SCSS.
- Understanding of JavaScript and jQuery.
- Understanding of React.
- Understanding of modern web animation techniques.
- Understanding of cross-browser compatibility.
- Understanding of high performant Responsive Web Design techniques.
- Understanding of web performance optimization.
- Understanding of creating SEO friendly websites.
- Understanding of Git and, ideally, the Git Flow workflow.
- Understanding of modern web design concepts, techniques, and best practices.
Additional Desired Skills: ( While not required, understanding in the following skills is a plus.)
- Knowledge of Hubspot.
- Knowledge of Shopify.
- Knowledge of relationship-based database technologies and concepts used by MySQL or PostgreSQL.
- Knowledge of creating accessible web applications (WAI-ARIA / WCAG 2.2 / Section 508 compliance).
- Knowledge of web security considerations.
- Unix command line interface and related tools.
- Knowledge of macOS.
- Knowledge of Webflow.
- Familiarity with C# and ASP.NET.
