We are currently searching for an experienced
Traffic Engineer In Training to support our
Southwest Region located in
Texas .
What You’ll Be Doing - Contributes to the preparation or modification of reports, plans and designs for projects
- Assists in the preparation of project quantity and cost estimates
- Participate in the collection and analysis of data and preparation of satisfactory designs
- Perform design calculations and conduct investigative analyses toward completion of assigned design tasks, and direct preparation of design specifications
- Perform quantity estimates, detailing and check calculations and drawings
- Organize scheduling of specific tasks and assignments
- Performs other duties as assigned
What You Need To Have - Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- Previous internship/co-op experience in transportation and municipal design desired
- 2-4 years of experience
- EIT certification is required
- Experience with OpenRoads Designer is highly preferred
- Previous experience with TxDOT preferred
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment. Volkert adheres to federal guidelines, which may include testing for substances such as marijuana. Please note that federal regulations may differ from state-specific guidelines
- If applicable to the position, a post offer fit for duty evaluation to ensure the individual can safely perform the essential functions of the role
- Valid driver’s license
- A satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR)
