Responsibilities:

ACCOUNT & TERRITORY MANAGEMENT

  • Develop new business and maintain existing customer and relationships
  • Achieve sales growth in-line with stated overall sales goals
  • Analyze account base to identify opportunities and discuss product needs through a relationship-based selling approach
  • Ensure maximum brand visibility within accounts by maintaining account KPIs and using effective and current point-of-sale materials
  • Prepare and deliver professional sales presentations to customers by balancing the company’s priorities and customer’s needs to include selling displays, merchandising, menu concepts, new products, well and back bar placements, drink and wine lists, and in location promotions
  • Maintain customer records, prepare sales materials, and submit orders for processing
  • Work with national account team for program compliance

PRODUCT & INDUSTRY KNOWLEDGE

  • Stay current and maintain a comprehensive knowledge of wine varietals and international wines in addition to all M.S. Walker products, including current prices, vintages, regional identity, awards and press- establish personal industry networks
  • Educate customer and account staff on priority brands by administering educational staff training seminars
  • Remain informed of company/supplier activities and updates by attending, and actively participating in, weekly sales meetings

  • Contribute to team effort in accomplishing goals
  • Collaborate with colleagues to exchange information such as selling strategies or marketing information
  • Work with management to achieve company objectives and individual goals

LEARN & DEVELOP

  • Successfully engage in and complete a paid 2-4 week in-field training and immersion program to integrate and learn the MSW sales process and product offerings

  • Engage in continuous self-education and professional development

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in fine wine wholesale, distribution, and/or importing with established client relationships. Candidates with restaurant or retail experience will also be considered.
  • Superior wine and spirits knowledge
  • Effective self and time management skills
  • Goal oriented, strong work ethic, positive mental attitude, and a team player
  • Outstanding relationship building and selling skills
  • Excellent organization, follow-up, and communication skills
  • Ability to walk, sit, stand, reach overhead and lift up to 45lbs
  • Valid driver’s license required

Salary:

The salary is commission based with an earnings range of $55-175K
