Requirements:

• Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution.
• Current, active Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) credential.
• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience, preferably in mental health, crisis intervention, or correctional/forensic settings.
• Strong understanding of DSM-5, evidence-based therapeutic approaches, and trauma-informed care.
• Ability to work effectively within a secure facility and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team.

 
Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments, psychosocial evaluations, and diagnostic interviews.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for incarcerated individuals with mental health needs.
• Provide individual and group psychotherapy using evidence-based modalities.
• Deliver crisis intervention, suicide prevention assessments, and stabilization services as needed.
• Monitor and evaluate treatment progress, documenting all clinical activities in compliance with facility and state standards.

 
Case Management & Coordination:

• Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, nursing staff, correctional officers, and other interdisciplinary team members.
• Coordinate referrals for specialized mental health services or outside resources as appropriate.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case reviews, and mental health rounds.
• Support inmates with reentry planning, connecting them to community resources, housing, and ongoing mental health care.

 
Compliance & Documentation:

• Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential inmate clinical records.
• Ensure compliance with state licensing standards, correctional regulations, HIPAA, and PREA guidelines.
• Contribute to facility audits, quality improvement initiatives, and policy development.

 
Education & Support:

• Provide psychoeducation to inmates on mental health symptoms, coping skills, substance use, and relapse prevention.
• Offer consultation and training to custody and facility staff on managing inmates with mental health needs.
• Promote a trauma-informed, rehabilitative environment within the correctional system.
