Job Title: Laboratory Manager
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Laboratory Manager to lead and guide our Development Technicians in executing plans, designs, cost estimates, and specifications for various projects. This role focuses on experimental, maintenance, and modernization initiatives, ensuring practical solutions to technical challenges.
Responsibilities
+ Manage a team of 2-3 people, utilizing experience in team leadership.
+ Procure new laboratory equipment as necessary and oversee training for proper usage.
+ Evaluate existing products for continuous improvement and cost/material optimization.
+ Formulate silicone compounds and manage quoting and sampling activities aligned with business needs.
+ Support process engineering efforts to enhance operational efficiency.
+ Maintain accurate documentation and reporting for new material development and process enhancements.
+ Contribute to the annual budgeting process and uphold quality standards and program objectives.
+ Collaborate with suppliers and the Purchasing Manager to identify optimal material sources.
+ Communicate proactively with stakeholders about progress, issues, and resource requirements.
+ Engage with customers to resolve technical concerns and maintain strong relationships.
+ Manage regulatory documentation to ensure compliance with standards such as REACH and RoHS.
+ Travel as needed to meet with suppliers, customers, or for other business obligations.
Essential Skills
+ Expertise in compounding, silicone, chemical compounding, and GMP.
+ A minimum of three years of experience in the development and processing of silicone HCR and LSR/RTV materials.
+ Supervision experience in a technical laboratory environment.
+ Experience with transfer molding, compression molding, injection molding, extrusion, coating, and other fabrication activities.
+ Strong organizational skills and ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical employees.
+ Understanding of ISO standards.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ A science or chemistry degree is preferred, though equivalent work/life experience is acceptable.
Work Environment
This position operates within a small company of approximately 50 people and follows a Monday to Friday schedule from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $48.00/hr.
