Job Title: Construction Controller Job Description We are seeking a Controller to lead financial operations across both corporate and project-level accounting. This role will be instrumental in supporting strategic growth initiatives, managing audits, and ensuring financial compliance. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of hands-on accounting experience, leadership skills, and construction industry knowledge. Responsibilities + Lead financial operations for both corporate and project-level accounting. + Support strategic growth initiatives and manage audits ensuring financial compliance. + Prepare documentation and lead audit readiness twice annually. + Directly manage accounting personnel with a focus on accuracy and timeliness. + Ensure financial compliance with quarterly reporting tied to loan agreements. + Handle payroll, ERP systems, multi-state tax preparation, and Excel data entry. + Collaborate with ownership and leadership on strategic financial initiatives. Essential Skills + Expertise in construction accounting, financial planning, and analysis. + Strong leadership development and compliance skills. + Experience with internal control and audit preparation. + Proficiency with budgeting and forecasting for both project and corporate focus. + Experience with Viewpoint and other ERP systems. + Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. + Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, project-driven environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. + 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 2-3 years in a controller role within construction.
